Dinner

Tonight for dinner we had Turkey & Veggie Meatloaf, Caesar Salad with avacado and english cucumber slices and roasted red potatoes. Meatloaf Recipe
1 lb of ground turkey

3 eggs
1/2 cup milk

1 cup cheese

3/4 cup oatmeal
2 zucchini, shredded
1 1/2 cup of mini carrots, shredded or finely chopped in food processor
4 tsp chicken base (Better Than Boullion brand)

2 tsp. onion powder

1 tsp granulated garlic
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp soy sauce

Mix all ingredients in bowl until well mixed. Put in greased 9x13 casserole dish.
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

Roasted Potatoes

Cut up red potatoes (leave skin on, this is much healthier as the skin of potatoes has a lot of nutrients). I usually do about 6 cups of cut up potatoes.

Place in bowl and add
2 TB oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp granulated garlic
1/2 tsp parsley

Bake at 450 for 20 minutes, turn potatoes and bake for another 10 minutes.

Caesar Salad

2 heads of romaine, cut up
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (I get the big thing of it at Costco and lasts forever!)
Newman's Caesar Dressing

Avocado cut up

English cucumber sliced

I use Newman's Dressing because it is made without high fructose corn syrup. Stay tuned for my post about HFCS. Most dressings are full of this garbage. Newman's isn't the best either, but its a start in the right direction!

That is our dinner for tonight. I love that the meatloaf has zucchini and carrots in it, you can also add chopped spinach if you want. Extra Veggies!!!! Mix salad

The First Post

Hi Everyone!

My name is Sarah and I am a wife to an amazing husband and a mother to 4 amazing children ages 2-10. I have a passion to have a healthy family as most mothers probably do. I am not an extremist but like to read up on options and I have done a ton of research for easy ways to implement healthier choices into your every day living without breaking the bank. My goal is to give you ideas and options for you. Ideas that are hopefully easy to implement into your life. I want parents to know their are better options for your family.

I will be posting what we had for dinner everyday with a picture and recipes.

At least once a week I will post health tidbits or "did you know" options and what to do about them.

I am not an expert in any way. I am simply a mother who has read and continues to read about health. This blog is to give you ideas and hopefully help all those that read know that their is choices to make every day for the health of your children and family.

Enjoy!
